2020 Dance Classes in Bluebird Park

Dance classes are conducted by the St. Louis Community College Continuing Education program and meet at the Park Administration Center in Bluebird Park. All registrations must be made by calling (314) 984-7777 or online at: www.stlcc.edu/CE

Ballroom Dancing: Beginning 

Fee: $75.00 (Adults 60+ $55.50)
Dates: February 24 to April 13, 2020
Times: Monday evenings, 6:30 to 7:50 pm

In eight short weeks, learn to dance with grace and ease, then confidently dance at your next social event! Add new dimension to your life by learning classic ballroom favorites for a lifetime of enjoyment. It's a fun night out and you'll be amazed at what you can do with the variety of dance rhythms and steps covered. Partners helpful though not required. Rotation of partners is encouraged but not mandatory. Fee is per person. Dress shoes recommended. No tennis shoes. Assumption of Risk, Release and Waiver of Liability must be signed at first class.

Swing Dancing: Beginning

Fee: $59.00 (Adults 60+ $38.00)
Dates: February 24 to April 13, 2020
Times: Monday evenings, 8:00 to 9:00 PM

Learn to swing dance in a fun, relaxed atmosphere, practicing a variety of easily performed steps that form the basic ingredients of all higher level swing dancing. Experience basics of swing along with combinations and patterns of various swing movements. The techniques taught in this course will help you look great on the dance floor after just a few lessons! It's a fun way to meet new friends and dance to great music. Couples and singles welcome. Rotation of partners is encouraged but not mandatory. Fee is per person. Dress shoes recommended. No tennis shoes. Assumption of Risk, Release and Waiver of Liability must be signed at first class.

Easy Social Dance

Fee: $75.00 (Adults 60+ $55.00)
Dates: February 25 to April 28, 2019 (No class on 3/10 or 4/7)

Times: Tuesdays, 7:30 to 8:50 PM

Are you attending a reunion, wedding reception, or social gathering where ther will be dancing? In this fun course, explore several easy dances that will allow you to dance to anything, fast or slow. Learn techniques to move smoothly and to lead or follow with confidence. If there is a particular song you want to know how to dance to for your wedding or other social event, feel free to bring it to class for helpful suggestions. Couples and singles welcome. Rotation of partners is encouraged but not mandatory. Fee is per person. Dress shoes recommended. No tennis shoes. Assumption of Risk, Release and Waiver of Liability must be signed at first class.

Line Dance for Adults

Fee: $59.00 (Adults 60+ $38)
Dates: February 25 to April 28, 2020 (No class 3/10 or 4/7)
Times: Tuesdays, 6:15 to 7:15 PM

Even if you have two left feet, you can learn basic line dancing steps. No prior experience necessary and no partner necessary. Come by yourself or bring a group of friends. Be prepared for lots of fun, cardiovascular exercise, and the opportunity to make new friends. Learn new line dances and old classics at an easy-going pace. Non-rubber soled shoes recommended. Fee is per person. Assumption of Risk, Release and Waiver of Liability must be signed at first class.
