National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, and a more caring place to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August. In Texas and select areas including the City of Ellisville, National Night Out is celebrated on the first Tuesday in October. Neighborhoods host block parties, cookouts, flashlight walks, parades, contests, youth activities, anticrime rallies, visits from emergency personnel, and much, much more.
From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on October 1st, residents in neighborhoods throughout Ellisville are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police.
This is a great way to build a safer community and to get to know your neighbors and your surroundings. National Night Out triumphs over a culture that isolates us from each other and allows us to rediscover our own communities. Make this the year you and your neighborhood participate in the National Night Out event. Download the registration form and send to Sergeant Nancy Walker at firstname.lastname@example.org by September 20 to make sure you are included in all the details of this event and to make sure City Officials and police officers know to visit your event.
