General Election - Filing Procedures

An election will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, to elect a Council Member from each of the three Districts and one (1) Council Member from District Two (2) to fill an unexpired term. Any Ellisville resident wishing to become a CANDIDATE FOR THE OFFICE OF COUNCIL MEMBER may do so by filing an application in writing with the City Clerk, or in her absence with the City Manager, at the Ellisville City Hall, #1 Weis Avenue, between the hours of 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2018, and 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2019, with the following exceptions: City Hall will be closed at noon on Friday, December 14, 2018; and the entire day on Monday, December 24, 2018, Tuesday , December 25, 2018; Monday, December 31, 2018, and Tuesday, January 1, 2019.


A Council Member from each of the three districts will be elected for a four (4) year term and one (1) Council Member from District Two (2) will be elected to fill an unexpired two (2) year term.  Applicants for the office of Council Member must be at least 21 years of age.  Additionally, all applicants must: (1) be a qualified voter in accordance with State Statutes; (2) be a resident of the City of Ellisville for one year preceding the election; (3) a resident of the district; and (4) not owe any unpaid taxes to the City of Ellisville.
